I began releasing albums as Alien Skin in 2008, this was a couple of years after Real Life, as a band, called it a day. Returning home after our US tour, I began writing songs for an album which was to become my first, outside the band.
Released in early 2008, DON’T OPEN TILL DOOMSDAY became my Alien Skin debut album. It found a wide audience mostly due to working it on MySpace, THE social media platform of merit at the time and the first.
The albums remains a fan favourite with over a million song streams. One track in particular that gained a lot of attention was RAZOR ARMS. This attention helped achieve broad recognition for my music as Alien Skin. Many DEPECHE MODE fans were drawn to the song upon release and the album as a whole [I wish I’d kept the MySpace testimonal comments] one of them put together a video for me, and here it is below…
As for the name, ‘Alien Skin’ was the final track on the album and it appealed to me as a moniker for the entire project.
